Cancer Immune Support

Although no one single cause can be pinpointed in all cancers, it is understood that cancer can only occur when the immune system is not functioning at its normal level. This allows abnormal cells to grow unchecked. Conventional cancer treatment involves cutting out tumors, burning them with radiation, or poisoning them with chemotherapy. None of these approaches aims at improving the suppressed immune system; in fact, they all put added burdens on the immune system.

The immune system has the functions of identifying things foreign and harmful to the body, making antibodies to fight infection, and removing waste from the tissues. The system has many components and functions and can be compared to an army, with its infantry, tanks, air support, artillery, etc. When enough of these departments—which we call natural killer cells, cytokines, neutrophils, lymphocytes, macrophages, dendritic cells, lymph nodes, antibodies, etc.—are not working properly, the body becomes open to infections and even cancer. This decreased immune performance is most commonly caused by the accumulation of microbes (mostly fungi and viruses), toxic metals, and chemicals (pesticides, petrochemicals, and others).

The William Hitt Center Cancer Support program aims to improve immune function to allow the immune system to begin to limit the growth of cancers and eventually to cause them to decrease. Components of the program include the following:

  • Daily IV ozone (oxidizer)
  • Daily IV high-dose vitamin C (oxidizer), with Laetrile (cyanide poisoning of tumor cells)
  • Fulvic and humic acids (DNA repair)
  • Minerals (to help restore normal communication between cells)
  • Chlorella (detoxifier)
  • Chelators (to remove toxic metals)
  • Antifungal medication and diet (to decrease fermentation in the body)
  • Various other approaches, including disrupters of tumor cell cytoskeleton and stimulators of regeneration, that are tailored to the patient and cancer type.

Treatment is given six days a week, Monday through Saturday, and lasts 3-4 hours a day. Side effects are minimal and are due to the large amount of vitamin C, which will tend to cause thirst and plentiful urination. In general, patients who have not received chemotherapy or radiation, or who have very little detectable cancer, can plan on six weeks of treatment. Those who have received chemotherapy or radiation or who have several tumors or large tumors should plan on staying eight weeks.

Results of treatment are measured by changes in cytology, how the patient feels, physical exam, blood tests, radiology (CT scans, PET scans, etc.) and other methods employed to evaluate change in cancers.
