Vitamin C
Vitamin C (also called ascorbic acid) occurs naturally in the body and works as an antioxidant. Supplementing vitamin C has been shown to speed healing and help with infection.
Almost all commercially available vitamin C available in the United States, both oral and IV, comes from corn. The problem with this is that corn always has some level of aflatoxin, the same fungal toxin found in peanuts. This can negate much of vitamin C's beneficial effect. The most effective vitamin C is derived from either beets or cassava root (the tapioca plant). We use cassava-derived vitamin C.
